God's mercy is NOT getting what you DO deserve...in Gen 19:16-17 (approx), Lot was told to leave Sodom, but they (him and his family) were dragging their feet. The men were telling them to leave... they told him run for the hills and don't look back. Keep in mind that these men repeatedly told Lot to leave. This is an example of God's mercy because Lot could have been obedient the first time, but instead he was dragging his feet. At that time, God could have said "if he won't listen, let him die" but God's mercy was extended to Lot AND his family, and they WAITED on Lot to leave before destroying Sodom. Then they told him run for the hills and don't look back and Lot told them I can't go there, let me go to a different place. How may times do we do that? God tells us to go one place, but we are saying, nah, let me go here instead, it's better for me. HE knows what's best for you!!!
BE OBEDIENT! God's mercies are extended for as long as he wants to extend them...Lot and his family were told to run for the hills AND don't look back. Lot's wife looked back and instead of being granted mercy for her disobedience, she turned into salt. it is not always easy doing what God says, BUT it is for the better! We have to remember that HIS plan is ALWAYS better than OUR plan. In fact, we shouldn't make plans, lol...you should pray abuot everything and worry about nothing. Everything you do should be brought before God. Try praying about EVERYTHING in your life...tell him about your day, tell him about what you do and don't want to do...he DESIRES for us to tell him all these things...he cares about even the smallest things in your life. Try it, you'll be amazed!
Candace you are doing it today girl. I am seeing everything that you are saying. I want my blessing to continue like Abraham. He was so faithful and listened to everything god told him to do. When we listen we are blessed.
God can bring such blessings in your life that can make you forget afflictions and hardships of your past! Praise God!
(But don't forget, Joseph took the very blessings given by God to help his family during a famine... IT IS NOT ABOUT US-But about using what God has given us to do for others according to His will)
Joseph was a type of Christ in the old testament: He gave bread to his brothers even thought they betrayed him. Jesus is the bread of life. He held his peace during all the wrong done to him. Jesus held his peace when He was being wrongly treated-He knew what His mission was and didn't let anything deterr Him. Also did anyone see how Joseph's brothers sold him for 20 pieces of silver and Jesus was betrayed by Judas for 30 pieces of silver. Father God make me better for your glory during and after this Bible journey so that I can be a better witness for you-In the name of Jesus
Chelsea & I talked last night about how hard headed & stubborn Pharoah was in not allowing the Israelites to leave. Even though God hardened his heart so that His power & glory could be shown...It made me think: How often in our lives do we harden our hearts against something & it takes God to send us through several modern day plagues before we get the point? Each of us has a little Pharoah in us as we struggle daily. My prayer is that through this journey our hearts be softened & our eyes and ears opened to what God has for us.
(Even though the plot thickens after he releases them).
All that God brings you to, brings you through, teaches you, corrects and rebukes you of you. It is all an opportunity to be a witness to Him. Your daily reading is for you to a witness. Proclaim Him with boldness, love, and adoration. See Deut 4:5-6
Apply Apply Apply what you read. It's fun to share with each other but it effective to share with non- believers, the lost and the captive.
